I know, I know… this blog is about pop culture and fashion… not cheezy family TV, but I can’t help it… I’m obsessed with “Jon & Kate Plus 8″. I have to include a small disclaimer which is that it is seemingly on television ALL the time, I mean around the clock, so it is easy to get hooked.
Anyhoo, after watching quite a few episodes about this family with a set of twins and a set of sextuplets and observing their group dynamic, I was of course fascinated to find out what signs everybody was. I thought the sextuplets were probably Libras since on the whole they are so darn well behaved. Well turns out the twins are Libras. Libras are very adept at being peacemakers and enjoy being with lots of other people. Bingo. One of the twins, Maddy, is more of a drama queen than the other, and this shows the negative tendency of Libra, which is a serious neediness for attention and approval. Quite understandable though when you have six younger siblings.
The sextuplets are Taureans. This makes perfect sense. Two words come to mind which thinking of Taurus; stubborn and possessive. If you were constantly having to share everything with, or fiercely guard your own things from, your five twins you would probably also become quite possessive. And if you are not stubborn, then you will just get swept along. Taurus is also the sign of the zodiac that most thrives on routine and schedule and the Gosselin sextuplets, out of necessity, will have grown up this way. Their lives move like clockwork.
Perhaps my favorite discovery was that the parents are also twins, astrologically anyways, both being Aries born just days apart. This is a perfect counterpoint to their family of multiples. They too must be on the same page and present a united front, and both having the same sun sign puts them in that position. Also, both Libra and Taurus are ruled by Venus, the feminine, receptive planet in astrology. Jon and Kate, as Aries, are ruled by Mars, the masculine, aggressive planet in astrology. They call the shots and, thankfully, love to stay busy and thrive in an action-packed environment. Though Aries can have a short fuse, they blow up and move on without holding negative emotional baggage, also a necessity I’m sure in a situation like this. It certainly does not look like an easy task but they do an amazing job with those kids!
Thank you so much for this! I was really curious as to what their signs were as well. I’m a Taurus myself, with my Ascendant in Libra, so I have a sure goddess in myself. My moon is in capricorn, so I’m also very earthy.
